A special service was held in Abergavenny on Saturday (28th October) to install a Chancellor of the Order of St John and a new Commissioner for St John Cymru-Wales in Gwent.
The installation saw Mr Stephen Hughes, from Grosmont, installed as the charity’s new Chancellor and Mr Daniel Lyons, from Newport, installed as one of the youngest appointed St John Commissioners in Wales.
The Prior for Wales, Sir Paul Williams formally installed both Mr Hughes and Mr Lyons to their positions at the Priory Church. St John volunteers and supporters from all over Gwent were in attendance.
Commenting on the appointments, Chief Executive for St John Cymru-Wales, Keith Dunn OBE, said:
"These are key roles within St John Cymru-Wales, which will be held for the next 3 years, and we wish both of them well."
Welsh Rugby Player, Sam Warburton OBE has been invested as a Member of the Order of St John.
