Temporary Finance Administrator (x2) – 6 month contract

Accountable to: Financial Project Accountant  

Location: Cardiff

Hours: 35 hours per week

St John Cymru is Wales’ leading first aid charity. With over 4,000 volunteers and 200 staff supported by commercial training, event management and ambulance services, we are a complex and diverse group offering a really exciting challenge to the right person.

We are seeking to appoint two Temporary Finance Administrators, initially on a 6 month fixed term contract.  The Finance Administrator will work with the Volunteer Finance Team to provide an efficient transactional processing service to volunteers.

The focus of the role is to provide a hands on financial support to Divisional Finance Officers (DFOs) and Divisional Officers in Charge (DOICs) and County Teams, offering support and assistance if necessary.

To be considered for this role you will ideally have knowledge of basic financial procedures, policies and accounting code structures, preferably with experience in credit control and banking requirements. You will also be able to demonstrate the range of skills and abilities essential to effective financial administration and management reporting. Patient Care Assistant (PCA)

Location: Cardiff

Hours: 35 Per Week

Salary: £8.00 per hour, rising to £8.25 per hour after 12 months PDR/Competency dependant

St John Cymru is Wales’ leading first aid charity supported by commercial training, supplies and ambulance services.

Due to continued expansion St John Cymru we are currently seeking a number of Patient Care Assistants to support the growing Patient Transport Team in our various sites.

As a Patient Care Assistant you will assist the Urgent Care Attendant in the transportation of non-emergency ambulatory and stretcher patients who require a minimum level of care and assistance. As part of the role you will be expected to transfer patients to and from specific locations, as specified on a day to day basis; liaising closely with hospitals/care staff to provide a high quality service to our clients and maintain the professional image of St. John Cymru.

No previous medical experience is required, just a caring attitude and a friendly and willing disposition.

Community Engagement Manager (Internal)

INTERNAL JOB - This vacancy is only available to St John Cymru employees, volunteers and agency workers currently engaged with the Organisation.

Salary: £23,988 - £27,775

Location: Cardiff

Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week

St John Cymru is seeking a motivated and experienced Community Engagement Manager.

As Community Engagement Manager you will manage all aspects of engaging with the community to promote the importance of learning first aid and coordinate community training courses to facilitate this.

Health & Safety Advisor (Volunteer Role)

St John Cymru is Wales’ leading first aid charity. With over 4000 volunteers, we provide emergency first aid, deliver medical cover at events and train people of all ages in vital first aid skills, so they can make a difference in times of need.

Are you looking to utilise your Health and Safety (H&S) knowledge and experience to make a difference in the community?  The People Directorate at St John Cymru Wales is looking to introduce a forward thinking volunteer Health and Safety advisor specialist to their team. The charity portfolio is across Wales, with the National Headquarters in Cardiff. We are seeking a highly motivated volunteer Health and Safety Advisor specialist to help build on, promote and embed a positive safe and healthy culture across the charity.

The post holder will co-ordinate, support and advise St John on all aspects of H&S. Supporting the Director of People and the H&S Committee, we are looking for someone who will ensure all responsibilities associated with H&S within St John are adhered to and that good practice is appropriately shared. If you’re enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated by helping others to make a difference then we would love to hear from you.
