Urgent Care Attendant (UCA)

Hours:  35 Hours per Week

Salary: £8.51 - £9.22 per hour

St John Cymru-Wales is Wales’ leading first aid charity supported by commercial training, supplies and ambulance services.
St John Cymru-Wales are currently seeking a number of Urgent Care Attendant (UCA) to support the growing Patient Transport Team. Areas to cover will be South Wales working from Norbury Road, Fairwater Cardiff.
The Urgent Care Attendant role is to provide the transportation of High Dependency and non-emergency ambulant and stretcher patients who require a responsive level of care and assistance, providing emergency aid, where appropriate.
There will also be a requirement for working on “Falls Calls” where lone working will be required.

Falls Assistant

Hours:  35 Hours per Week

Salary: £9.53 per hour  (plus 20% night shifts)

St John Cymru-Wales are currently seeking a number of Falls Assistants provide a timely and effective response to patients that have fallen. The Falls Assistant often work independently, however, will be expected to work as part of the wider team when required.

The Falls Assistant is responsible for providing a basic patient assessment at scene along with utilising basic manual handling procedures to assist the patient safely from the floor in conjunction with Welsh Ambulance Service (WAST) and Clinical Contact Centre (CCC) and other members of the wider team.  Following assessment at scene the Falls Assistant will work closely with the Hear and Treat clinicians to ensure patients receive the most appropriate treatment and/ or onward referral.

Freelance Trainer (Casual basis)

To cover all of North Wales, including Wrexham, Llandudno & Abergele

As St John Cymru grows and develops we are seeking motivated and qualified trainers with a passion for teaching and the aspiration to make a difference. The post holders will have Level 3 Award in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning, and will have delivered a minimum of 3 courses in the last year, eg: First Aid at Work including any Health and Safety Courses and hold a valid First Aid at Work Certificate.

The ability to speak Welsh will be an advantage.
